Elite Triathlon Career:   Qualified for 2000 Olympic Triathlon Team with fourth-place finish at USA Triathlon Olympic Team Trials on May 28 in Irving, Texas... Placed fourth at the 2000 Competitor Magazine/Greg Welch Mile, in conjunction with the San Diego (Calif.) Indoor Games, finishing less than three seconds behind American record holder Steve Scott… Won five of 13 races in 1998 en route to being named U.S. Olympic Committee’s Triathlete of the Year… Placed in the top five in nine of those events and top 10 in 11…Placed 6th at the 1999 Goodwill Games in New York and 14th at the 1995 Goodwill Games in St. Petersburg, Russia…Ranked as high as 13th in the ITU World Rankings…


Amateur Triathlon Career:   The 1985 IronKids Triathlon Series National Champion, at age 14, defeating future Olympic, World Champion and Tour de France winning cyclist Lance Armstrong in Series Championship...Won the 1990 Amateur and Junior National Champion, finishing first overall at the National Age Group Championship at Leon’s QEM Triathlon in Hammond, Ind., setting the course and event record…

Athletic Background:   Four-year letter winner in cross country and track at Notre Dame... Ran a 14:24 5K and a 30:13 10K during his sophomore season (1991)... On the same day during his senior year at Lyman High School in Longwood Fla., finished second at the Florida High School Cross Country Championship and anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay at the Florida High School Swimming Championships... Named to All-Florida cross country, track and swimming teams during his sophomore, junior and senior high school seasons…
